How to deal with overseas manufacturers.

INTRODUCTION

In this article we will be giving details of getting faster turn around when dealing with Alibaba manufactures .We have 5 top priority points you should have pre prepared when wanting manufacturers to take on your desired garment.

5 THINGS TO HAVE PREPARED

1: Measurements
Prepare all your measurements prior to contacting your manufacture. This includes body width, body length, shoulder to shoulder, hem, neck width, sleeve length all the way to pocket sizing .Make sure to have measurements for all your sizes whether it be from XS to 5XL
2: Material
This is self explanatory, cotton, synthetic blends polyester and so on. But... there are things you may not have considered about the material, the way it is stitched and also the GSM (grams per meter), for example our main material is cotton for our t-shirts and we always use french terry stitched cotton at a GSM of 300. 300GSM is heavy for a t-shirt so if you want something lighter then you could go 200GSM.
3:Design / graphics design
Pre make your designs for quicker turn around , use canva , photoshop or if your like us a graphics designer. these are for your screen prints or embroidery.
4:Customisation
If your looking to add extra things to your garments like pockets, certain types of buttons , custom clothing labels, custom zippers etc. make sure you give great detail and make sure they understand what you want and don't be shy to correct them as you are the person paying for the garment to be made.
5:Money
Be prepared to pay anything from $100USD up to $400USD for a sample. Samples ain't cheap so be prepared if you're a first timer.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion preparation is great for a smoother process while dealing with overseas manufactures. But beware communication can be lost because of the language barrier with some manufacturers but most speak good English.
